The SAKIORI silk crewneck pays homage to the traditional Japanese method of sakiori, which uses strips of recycled fabric to create new garments.

An ancient custom to overcome the difficulty of finding new fabrics to make clothes during times of greatest economic difficulty.

Each piece is unique, handmade according to ancient Japanese peasant practice: the silk strips, taken from antique kimonos or fine fabrics collected on my travels, are created by precisely fraying the fabrics without the use of scissors.
